Umicore Specialty Materials Brugge introduces new Valikat catalysts
USMB have developed two new polyurethane catalysts, adding to their already successful Valikat range which are widely used in many applications including automotive parts, clothing, food packaging and building materials.
The two new additions are the Valikat DCC 1410 and Valikat DCC 4110.
DCC stands for Delayed Cure catalyst and both catalysts are unique in that they combine long open times with a fast cure and an improved stability against hydrolysis. These properties make the DCC catalysts very similar to mercury and tin, with two very important differences, they are non-toxic and REACH compliant.
The new Valikat DCC catalysts have been developed specifically for coatings, adhesives, sealants, elastomers and flexible foams. For more information, please contact our sales here.
Umicore Specialty Materials appoints Urespec as exclusive distributor for polyurethane catalysts
Urespec Ltd will be representing Umicore in the UK and Ireland offering specialty catalysts to elastomer, foam and coatings manufacturers.
The products in question include Valikat bismuth and zinc based catalysts which are typically used for improving the performance of polyurethane CASE products.
A first for Urespec is the recently launched Valikat ZB1001 polyurethane catalyst.
Valikat ZB1001 is a unique catalyst because it allows manufactures of polyurethane elastomers to produce better quality products than those manufactured with traditional mercury based catalysts.
In addition, there are performance and cost advantages in using Valikat catalysts as an alternative to organo-tin based catalysts in sealants and coatings.
