CureRod A
An oscillating rod rheometer/curemeter delivering continuous cure profiles by amplitude attenuation.
Developed by two independent polymer specialists, the CureRod A is an oscillating rod rheometer/curemeter which delivers continuous cure profiles by amplitude attenuation.
CureRod A (the “A” stands for amplitude) is the first curemeter for liquid polymer/resin systems designed to work with samples of different sizes, and therefore able to explore the effects of scale.
This high precision testing instrument offers the following unique benefits to researchers of flexible, rigid and foamed liquid polymer cures:
- A Continuous cure profile or fingerprint of cure
- Suitable for use with a wide range of sample sizes
- Easy to operate with disposable sample cells
- Suitable for samples at ambient temperatures or up to 250°C
- Computer integrated for data storage & retrieval
The continuous profile of cure is far more discriminating than any single point measurement and removes subjectivity from cure rate assessment.
The CureRod A delivers the information as a low noise output, in real time, which can be exported to spread-sheets and databases and re-plotted in different formats and overlaid for detailed comparison.
It can accommodate liquids which cure to elastomers (soft or hard) or set completely solid and systems which cure in minutes, hours or even days,
The CureRod A breaks new ground in its simplicity of the sample system:
- It uses a plain rod in an open vessel which is completely disposable
- It works at a fixed frequency
- It uses magnetic sample location and is free from the limitations of mechanical fixings.
